Domestic Violence Services
Preble County Program Services
The Domestic Violence Shelter in Preble County has continuously operated since the mid-1980's with the YWCA Dayton assuming programmatic operations in fall of 2004 in cooperation with the HIT Foundation. The YWCA provides 24-hour/7 day access to confidential aid for victims of domestic violence, dating violence and child victimization. It is the only protective emergency shelter in the Eaton/Preble County area with "wrap around" services. YWCA Dayton Preble County shelter services offer a wide variety of programming to help women and children improve personal safety, encourage self-sufficiency and enable women to survive, cope and re-enter the community safely. Services include:
Support and Educational groups
Food, clothing and personal care items
Follow-up and Referrals
The Domestic Violence Shelter is protective shelter and services, provided in a confidential location, for women and their children seeking refuge from violent living situations.
