Ohio has launched a five year plan (2015 - 2020) that shall emphasize a Recovery-Oriented System of Care that capitalizes on community strengths.

Recovery is Beautiful is about helping our communities become and stay healthy and safe, with the recognition that people often require help, and when they do we need to be ready and able to serve them for the length of time their chronic disease requires.

Ohio's system of addiction and mental health services and programs are built with one premise in mind;  Helping Ohioan's live better, healthier, drug-free lives.

A Recovery-Oriented System of Care is lead by these five principles:

Focus on Clients & Families

Individuals and families will DRIVE the mental health & addiction services within local community.
Timely Access to Care

Your local Mental Health and Recovery Board will ensure a continuum of high-quality, integrated care that is available in a timely manner.
Promoting healthy, safe and drug-free communities

Your local Board will offer a continuum of service that includes prevention & wellness, community education, crisis services, treatment, and recovery supports like housing, employment support and peer support.

Prioritize Accountable & Outcome-Driven Financing

Your local Board utilizes a blended funding approach that aligns resources and improves coordination between local stakeholders by maximizing federal, state and local funds.
Locally Managing Systems of Care

Your local Board, working with local partners and providers, are able to determine what works best in your community.  Innovation at the local level will lead to the implementation of improved mental health and addiction service delivery solutions.
