1 in 5 will suffer from a mental health related health condition at some point in their lives. Thankfully, our society is beginning to learn that mental health conditions are exactly that - health conditions.

If our mind is not healthy, chances are, our lives are not healthy either. Mental illness affects relationships, work, finances, physical health, and more.

There is no shame in wanting to be cancer-free - no shame in controlling diabetes through insulin. There should be no shame in successfully treating our mental health issues in order to live healthier, more stable and productive lives.
Substance use and mental health often go hand-in-hand. Most addiction counselors will tell you that many who are abusing drugs and alcohol are often "self-treating" mental and internal wounds from their past; and until those wounds are recognized and treated, the addiction pattern will often continue.
